Bruxism

Bruxism

Almost everyone has bruxism, the teeth grinding and clenching of the jaw daytime or nighttime, at some point in their lives. This is a sleep disorder accompanied by clenching and grinding that causes most damage during sleeping hours and is symptomatic of a malfunctioning chewing reflex, where deep sleep or even naps cause the reflex nerve control center in the brain to turn off and the reflex pathways to become active.
